- Price range
- P75 → P25 of asking — the middle half of listings at that age sits inside this band. Outliers above and below excluded.
- Down payment
- MAS Notice 642 LTV cap applied to the age's median asking: 30% when OMV is up to S$20k, 40% above. Max loan tenure 7 years. Rows marked * mix both OMV buckets — we display the conservative 40% figure so the quote never under-states what a luxury-OMV listing at that age would actually require.
- Availability
- High when this age's listing share is ≥1.5× the model's uniform expectation, low when ≤0.6×, medium otherwise. Model-relative, so an evenly-spread model lands all-medium.

- Brand reliability
- Consumer-survey composite — JD Power · WhatCar · Consumer Reports. Same score for every variant of a given make.
- Resale strength
- 100 − 3× annualised tangible-decay (COE-stripped). Fitted from each variant's asking-price-by-age regression then averaged at model level.
- Peer set
- Every same-segment model with ≥5 active PARF listings whose variants fit a depreciation curve. Practicality isn't plotted — it's a body-shape constant within the segment, so it would be the same for every dot.
- Quadrants
- The crosshair marks the segment median on each axis. Top-right (Safe Bets) is strong on both; top-left (Hidden Gems) holds value above what the brand reputation suggests; bottom-right (Bargain Buys) is well-built but depreciates fast — buy cheap; bottom-left (High Risk) is soft on both.

Verdict
BMW's electric Gran Coupé on the 4-Series G26 platform — eDrive40 (RWD) + xDrive40 (AWD) + M50 (cult EV performance trim). One of the more reliable premium EVs you can buy in 2026 per owner data — but software, charging hardware, and recalls matter. 2022-2025 i4s have seen recalls for battery fire risk, drive-motor software, and a 2024 structural recall (left-side longitudinal beam cracking on eDrive40 / xDrive40 / M50). HV battery + motor hardware look solid; degradation minimal on 2-4 year old cars. Universal EV-specific checks: 12V auxiliary battery, charge port latch (cold/wet climate sticking), HV SOH.

What's good
- Battery health checked at 90%+ at 50k km via BMW service — battery durability is the strongest aspect of the i4. SOH report from BMW service mode confirms pack is performing within expected curve. Same logic as iX3 / Tesla / Taycan EV catalogue.
- All three recalls done — battery fire, drive-motor, structural — multiple safety-critical recalls across the gen; closed paperwork is non-negotiable. Combined with clean BMW service history, the cleanest used i4 pick.
What to watch
- A 2024 eDrive40/xDrive40/M50 where the structural recall hasn't been done — left-side longitudinal beam cracking recall is VIN-specific but safety-critical. Walking without verifying is the rational default.
- Charging session errors or charge port latch sticking at viewing — gen-defining quirks. Latch failure is common cold/wet climate; software-fixable for many charging issues. Diagnose at viewing especially on cars driven primarily off public DC fast chargers.

Common questions about the BMW i4
- How much does a used BMW i4 cost in Singapore?
- Most used BMW i4 on the market are around 3 years old, asking roughly S$198k–S$220k (typically about S$206k). That's the age with the widest choice — and the most sellers competing, so it's where you'll have the most room to bargain.
- Is the BMW i4 reliable?
- In our read, the BMW i4 scores 55 out of 100 on brand reliability. That still varies by generation and how the individual car was looked after, so always check the service history before you commit.
- Where do these BMW i4 figures come from?
- They're worked out from current used-BMW i4 listings in Singapore — asking prices, mileage and registration years — not past transaction prices. We refresh them regularly, and we flag thin data rather than guess.
