- Generation

- Price range
- P75 → P25 of asking — the middle half of listings at that age sits inside this band. Outliers above and below excluded.
- Down payment
- MAS Notice 642 LTV cap applied to the age's median asking: 30% when OMV is up to S$20k, 40% above. Max loan tenure 7 years. Rows marked * mix both OMV buckets — we display the conservative 40% figure so the quote never under-states what a luxury-OMV listing at that age would actually require.
- Availability
- High when this age's listing share is ≥1.5× the model's uniform expectation, low when ≤0.6×, medium otherwise. Model-relative, so an evenly-spread model lands all-medium.

- Brand reliability
- Consumer-survey composite — JD Power · WhatCar · Consumer Reports. Same score for every variant of a given make.
- Resale strength
- 100 − 3× annualised tangible-decay (COE-stripped). Fitted from each variant's asking-price-by-age regression then averaged at model level.
- Peer set
- Every same-segment model with ≥5 active PARF listings whose variants fit a depreciation curve. Practicality isn't plotted — it's a body-shape constant within the segment, so it would be the same for every dot.
- Quadrants
- The crosshair marks the segment median on each axis. Top-right (Safe Bets) is strong on both; top-left (Hidden Gems) holds value above what the brand reputation suggests; bottom-right (Bargain Buys) is well-built but depreciates fast — buy cheap; bottom-left (High Risk) is soft on both.

Verdict
Brand-new gen of the JDM Honda Odyssey — re-launched after a brief hiatus in some markets. Continues the JDM low-floor lounge MPV format. Hybrid uses the matured Honda i-MMD 2-motor system (same as Vezel RV / Stepwgn RP8 e:HEV / Accord hybrid). Power sliding doors continue to be the universal failure-prone item on Honda MPVs (test both fully at viewing). Cars are 1-2 years old; too early for long-term reliability verdict beyond the matured powertrain. Same Honda HCF-2 CVT discipline applies if petrol trim is available.

What's good
- i-MMD hybrid with documented Honda dealer service — same matured 2-motor Honda hybrid family as Vezel RV / Accord hybrid / Stepwgn RP8 / 5th-gen Odyssey RC4. The boring durable powertrain choice on a still-new chassis.
- Both power sliding doors cycling smoothly + silent at viewing — universal Honda MPV 5-minute filter. Even on a 1-2 year old car, doors should be silent + smooth; any drag = early sign of expensive surprise.
What to watch
- A parallel-import with no Singapore dealer service trail — you'd absorb the teething risk yourself — first-2-year teething applies on a new platform. Without SG dealer paperwork the buyer absorbs the uncertainty band.
- A sliding-door warning light or grinding at the viewing — an early sign of an expensive failure — even brand-new cars surfacing door issues = early warning. Honda 5th-gen Odyssey RC had widely-documented sliding-door failures; the pattern continues unless engineered out (data still thin).

Verdict
RC is the JDM low-floor lounge MPV — completely different car from the US Odyssey despite the shared name. RC1/RC2 = 2.4L K24W petrol + Earth Dreams CVT; RC4 = 2.0L LFA hybrid (i-MMD, the mature 2-motor system). Power sliding doors are the single most-failure-prone item on the gen — ratchet-switch grease dries up, motor burns out, ~S$1.5-2k per side. Lower hybrid trims sidestep the Earth Dreams CVT (i-MMD has no traditional gearbox). Always test both doors fully (open / close / latch / ajar warning) before signing.

What's good
- RC4 hybrid (LFA + i-MMD) with documented HV battery health check — sidesteps the Earth Dreams CVT shudder pattern that affects the petrol K24W trims; i-MMD has no traditional gearbox. The hybrid drivetrain is mature (same architecture as Accord / Civic hybrid).
- Both power sliding doors cycling smoothly + silent at viewing — the single best 5-minute filter for this gen. Door motor / ratchet-switch / latch is the most-failure-prone item; smooth operation means the most expensive recurring item is not currently due.
What to watch
- Sliding-door fault light at viewing, manual-open required, or grinding noise — ratchet-switch grease has dried or motor is on its way out. S$1.5-2k per side at Honda labour; walk unless heavily discounted with quote in hand. Often both doors go in the same window.
- K24W trim with CVT shudder at light throttle or low-speed creep — Honda Earth Dreams CVT torque-converter shudder pattern. Fluid service helps; severe symptoms past warm-up mean the torque converter is the likely fix (S$2.5-4k locally).

1 trimCommon questions about the Honda Odyssey
- How much does a used Honda Odyssey cost in Singapore?
- Most used Honda Odyssey on the market are around 9 years old, asking roughly S$39k–S$47k (typically about S$40k). That's the age with the widest choice — and the most sellers competing, so it's where you'll have the most room to bargain.
- How much does a used Honda Odyssey depreciate per year?
- A used Honda Odyssey loses value at a fairly steady pace — around 25% a year — with no real plateau. An older one costs less but keeps falling at much the same rate, so there's no single 'bargain age': buy on price and condition, not on timing.
- Is the Honda Odyssey reliable?
- In our read, the Honda Odyssey scores 85 out of 100 on brand reliability. That still varies by generation and how the individual car was looked after, so always check the service history before you commit.
- What should I expect to pay for a used Honda Odyssey with a given mileage?
- It depends on the exact variant, age and mileage — a higher-mileage car should ask less. Use the price modeller on this page to get a fair-price range for a specific age and mileage, so you know what to offer.
- Where do these Honda Odyssey figures come from?
- They're worked out from current used-Honda Odyssey listings in Singapore — asking prices, mileage and registration years — not past transaction prices. We refresh them regularly, and we flag thin data rather than guess.
