- Generation

- Price range
- P75 → P25 of asking — the middle half of listings at that age sits inside this band. Outliers above and below excluded.
- Down payment
- MAS Notice 642 LTV cap applied to the age's median asking: 30% when OMV is up to S$20k, 40% above. Max loan tenure 7 years. Rows marked * mix both OMV buckets — we display the conservative 40% figure so the quote never under-states what a luxury-OMV listing at that age would actually require.
- Availability
- High when this age's listing share is ≥1.5× the model's uniform expectation, low when ≤0.6×, medium otherwise. Model-relative, so an evenly-spread model lands all-medium.

- Brand reliability
- Consumer-survey composite — JD Power · WhatCar · Consumer Reports. Same score for every variant of a given make.
- Resale strength
- 100 − 3× annualised tangible-decay (COE-stripped). Fitted from each variant's asking-price-by-age regression then averaged at model level.
- Peer set
- Every same-segment model with ≥5 active PARF listings whose variants fit a depreciation curve. Practicality isn't plotted — it's a body-shape constant within the segment, so it would be the same for every dot.
- Quadrants
- The crosshair marks the segment median on each axis. Top-right (Safe Bets) is strong on both; top-left (Hidden Gems) holds value above what the brand reputation suggests; bottom-right (Bargain Buys) is well-built but depreciates fast — buy cheap; bottom-left (High Risk) is soft on both.

Verdict
Boring durable Lexus standard — TNGA-K platform shared with Camry, refined into the executive sedan format. ES 250 (2.5L A25A-FXS hybrid, JDM/SG) and ES 300h hybrid (THS-II 2AR-FXE) are the boring durable picks; same matured Toyota hybrid family as the Lexus NX 300h (which scored 99.8% reliability in What Car? family-SUV class). ES 350 V6 (2GR-FKS) is the most reliable engine on the chassis per NHTSA complaint density. Timing-cover leaks on the V6 + hybrid battery trouble spot are the recurring items.

What's good
- ES 350 (2GR-FKS V6) — most reliable engine on the chassis — the boring durable choice. Same V6 family as the Lexus RX 350 (also rated most-reliable). NHTSA complaint density lowest of the three engine options.
- ES 300h hybrid (THS-II 2AR-FXE) with documented battery SOH — same matured Toyota hybrid family as Camry / Avalon / NX 300h. The hybrid adds Lexus build quality around a proven battery system; pull SOH report at viewing.
What to watch
- ES 350 V6 (2020 MY especially) with no recent timing-cover service — timing-cover leak documented on this engine. Caught early it's a S$1.5-2.5k job; ignored it lets oil drip onto the exhaust. Inspect undertray before signing.
- History of fuel-pump failure or stalling while driving — Lexus issued recalls for this; safety-critical. Verify recall status via VIN at Lexus Borneo Motors before purchase.

Verdict
Camry XV50 platform-mate — 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 (ES 350) and 2AR-FXE hybrid (ES 300h) carry over. The 2GR-FE is the bulletproof Toyota V6 family that runs to 300k+ km routinely; the hybrid uses earlier-gen THS-II that's now thoroughly proven. SG market mainly sees the hybrid ES 300h for road-tax efficiency. The cars are 7-13 years old now — sliding-door motors, AC compressors, suspension bushings are age-due. Same Camry XV50 reliability profile.

What's good
- ES 300h hybrid with documented battery SOH at viewing — same Toyota THS-II + 2AR-FXE that's the most-proven hybrid system in Lexus/Toyota history. A car with recent SOH paperwork is the highest-confidence used Lexus in the SG market for its price class.
- ES 350 (2GR-FE V6) with full service history — the bulletproof Toyota V6 that powers Camry / Avalon / Sienna / RAV4 — comfortable to 300k+ km when serviced. Boring durable choice.
What to watch
- A hybrid 8+ years old with no battery health (SOH) report — same flag as every aged Toyota hybrid. Reconditioned battery S$2-4k locally; pull report from Lexus or hybrid-specialist before negotiating.
- AC compressor noise / weak cooling at viewing — universal age-related Toyota / Lexus item at 7-13 years. S$1-2k for compressor replacement at Lexus labour; price in if symptom present.

Common questions about the Lexus Es
- How much does a used Lexus Es cost in Singapore?
- Most used Lexus Es on the market are around 8 years old, asking roughly S$75k–S$89k (typically about S$83k). That's the age with the widest choice — and the most sellers competing, so it's where you'll have the most room to bargain.
- How much does a used Lexus Es depreciate per year?
- A used Lexus Es loses value at a fairly steady pace — around 23% a year — with no real plateau. An older one costs less but keeps falling at much the same rate, so there's no single 'bargain age': buy on price and condition, not on timing.
- Is the Lexus Es reliable?
- In our read, the Lexus Es scores 90 out of 100 on brand reliability. That still varies by generation and how the individual car was looked after, so always check the service history before you commit.
- What should I expect to pay for a used Lexus Es with a given mileage?
- It depends on the exact variant, age and mileage — a higher-mileage car should ask less. Use the price modeller on this page to get a fair-price range for a specific age and mileage, so you know what to offer.
- Where do these Lexus Es figures come from?
- They're worked out from current used-Lexus Es listings in Singapore — asking prices, mileage and registration years — not past transaction prices. We refresh them regularly, and we flag thin data rather than guess.
