- Generation
- Tap a generation (↓) to jump to its full breakdown below; the colour maps back to the timeline strip + legend above.
- Price range
- P75 → P25 of asking — the middle half of listings at that age sits inside this band. Outliers above and below excluded.
- Down payment
- MAS Notice 642 LTV cap applied to the age's median asking: 30% when OMV is up to S$20k, 40% above. Max loan tenure 7 years. Rows marked * mix both OMV buckets — we display the conservative 40% figure so the quote never under-states what a luxury-OMV listing at that age would actually require.
- Availability
- High when this age's listing share is ≥1.5× the model's uniform expectation, low when ≤0.6×, medium otherwise. Model-relative, so an evenly-spread model lands all-medium.
Positioning vs segment

- Brand reliability
- Consumer-survey composite — JD Power · WhatCar · Consumer Reports. Same score for every variant of a given make.
- Resale strength
- 100 − 3× annualised tangible-decay (COE-stripped). Fitted from each variant's asking-price-by-age regression then averaged at model level.
- Peer set
- Every same-segment model with ≥5 active PARF listings whose variants fit a depreciation curve. Practicality isn't plotted — it's a body-shape constant within the segment, so it would be the same for every dot.
- Quadrants
- The crosshair marks the segment median on each axis. Top-right (Safe Bets) is strong on both; top-left (Hidden Gems) holds value above what the brand reputation suggests; bottom-right (Bargain Buys) is well-built but depreciates fast — buy cheap; bottom-left (High Risk) is soft on both.

Verdict
3rd-gen Mercedes B-Class — successor to the curated B-Class W246. Built on the MFA2 platform (same as A-Class W177, CLA C118, GLA H247, GLB X247, EQB X243). Uses the M260 / M282 engine family + 7G/8G-DCT. All M260 platform checks carry over: 15yr/150k mi cylinder-head extended warranty, KBA 011460 diesel crankshaft recall (pre-2021 diesels), MBUX infotainment glitches. 8G-DCT (post-2018) is materially better than the older 7G-DCT of W246 era. Cars 0-7 years old.

What's good
- A build still inside the M260 cylinder-head extended warranty (15yr/150k mi from build) — same matrix-wide warranty across the M260 platform. Coverage means the most-expensive M260 issue is on Daimler's tab until the deadline.
- Post-2020 build with documented MBUX software refresh — early-build MBUX glitches addressed by software updates. Receipts mean the gen's defining tech complaint is settled.
What to watch
- A pre-2021 diesel with no KBA 011460 recall paperwork — it's for a crankshaft fault, so get it closed — German federal recall for diesel crankshaft failure mode. Verify via Mercedes Cycle & Carriage; walk without closed paperwork.
- A cold-start cabin shudder or jerky 1-2 shifts from the 8G-DCT gearbox — less common than the older 7G-DCT but still possible. Mechatronic / clutch-pack work S$3-5k locally; persistent symptoms past warm-up are the diagnostic.

Verdict
Mechanically the platform-mate of the A-Class W176 + CLA C117 + GLA X156 — same M270 1.6 / 2.0 turbo engine family, same 7G-DCT dual-clutch with the cold-start chain rattle pattern. All M270-platform checks apply: valve cover gasket leak at 80-120k km, oil-consumption pattern, 7G-DCT clutch + mechatronic wear from city driving. W246-specific: tailgate lock actuator corrosion, electronic parking brake actuator failure, and a known main relay located under the floor near the gear shifter (moisture / corrosion susceptible).

What's good
- M270 with documented 7G-DCT fluid service every 60k km — same A-Class W176 service formula. The receipt is the single best 7G-DCT durability indicator; Mercedes calls it 'lifetime fill' but every specialist disagrees. Mid-life cost of admission.
- Post-facelift (2014+) with electronic parking brake working normally — facelift addressed the worst of the launch-window quirks; an electronic-parking-brake check at viewing filters out the most actionable failure mode.
What to watch
- B 200 with persistent burnt-oil smell from engine bay — valve cover gasket failure on M270; the oil leaks onto the hot exhaust manifold. S$800-1.5k locally if undocumented. Same pattern as A-Class W176 / CLA C117.
- Electronic parking brake stuck / displaying malfunction warning — actuator motor or cable corrosion or BCM software glitch. Repair is well into 4 digits; insist on a working EPB at viewing before signing.

What's good
- Full Mercedes service + post-2008 facelift — the refreshed, better-sorted version.
- Manual gearbox, sidesteps the CVT worries — simpler, with one less thing to go wrong.
What to watch
- CVT shuddering past 100k km — the aging Mercedes CVT showing its years.
- Patchy service history past 14 years — get a Mercedes specialist to look it over.

Common questions about the Mercedes-Benz B-Class
- How much does a used Mercedes-Benz B-Class cost in Singapore?
- Most used Mercedes-Benz B-Class on the market are around 7 years old, asking roughly S$85k–S$95k (typically about S$89k). That's the age with the widest choice — and the most sellers competing, so it's where you'll have the most room to bargain.
- How much does a used Mercedes-Benz B-Class depreciate per year?
- A used Mercedes-Benz B-Class loses value at a fairly steady pace — around 17% a year — with no real plateau. An older one costs less but keeps falling at much the same rate, so there's no single 'bargain age': buy on price and condition, not on timing.
- Is the Mercedes-Benz B-Class reliable?
- In our read, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class scores 60 out of 100 on brand reliability. That still varies by generation and how the individual car was looked after, so always check the service history before you commit.
- What should I expect to pay for a used Mercedes-Benz B-Class with a given mileage?
- It depends on the exact variant, age and mileage — a higher-mileage car should ask less. Use the price modeller on this page to get a fair-price range for a specific age and mileage, so you know what to offer.
- Where do these Mercedes-Benz B-Class figures come from?
- They're worked out from current used-Mercedes-Benz B-Class listings in Singapore — asking prices, mileage and registration years — not past transaction prices. We refresh them regularly, and we flag thin data rather than guess.
